‘Vanaf mijn twaalfde denk ik, wat ben ik een wanhopig gebeuren.’
Ze lacht. Ze kijkt naar haar vriendin en dan naar haar glas.
‘Ik was bang. Ik was dit en was dat. Je hebt dan al achtduizend tikken op je hoofd gehad en al tienduizend ruzies meegemaakt.’
Ze neemt een slok. Haar vriendin steekt een sigaret op.
‘Ik weet nog dat toen ik acht was mijn broertje werd geboren. Ik zei iets tegen mijn vader dat hem niet beviel. Toen sloeg hij de deur van de wc tegen mijn hoofd.’
Ze houdt het glas even wat schever.
‘Ik dacht, dit is hard en mijn moeder is er niet.’
Ze neemt nog een slokje.
‘Nou, dan weet je het wel. Het wordt een pittige kluif.’
Ze kijkt naar buiten.
De lucht is grijs.
Lichtgrijs.
