Vrijdagavond stond er plotseling een Duitse overvalwagen met vier bewapende soldaten (geweer in de hand) voor de deur. Er werd aangebeld. Het leek of mijn keel werd dichtgesnoerd, toch liep ik automatisch naar de deur. Er stond een bijbelverkoopster. (Zij had gebeld!). De soldaten moesten aan de overkant van de straat zijn. Een jonge Indische dame werd gearresteerd en meegenomen. In Indië zijn enige duizenden Duitsers geïnterneerd en omdat ze niet worden vrijgelaten, zijn er tegenmaatregelen genomen en worden hier Indische mensen gearresteerd, maar ook bekende figuren die iets met Indië te maken hebben. Ik schrok me dood. Ik had met die jonge vrouw te doen. Misschien laten ze nu in Indië de Duitsers vrij, zodat ook hier de Nederlanders weer in vrijheid worden gesteld.
